Last month, HP officially unveiled NeoView, its long-awaited DW appliance (or quasi-appliance) offering. Like Teradata, NeoView is based on an integrated hardware and software platform, and, like Teradata, it also bundles installation and configuration services and a host of other services amenities, too. That's a market segment (and a value proposition) which Teradata seems to have pretty much all to itself. Consolidation Continues: TIBCO Nabs Spotfire
A round of consolidation is often taken as a sure sign that a market has reached, or is fast approaching, maturity. Beyond Reporting: InetSoft Thinks Bigger
InetSoft first made name for itself with its Style Report family of Java reporting offerings, but it's been thinking bigger of late. Last month, InetSoft unveiled version 9.0 of its InetSuite (iSuite) operational BI suite, an all-in-one reporting and analysis stack that brings together its data exploration, analysis, monitoring, reporting, and collaboration tools. iSuite's killer feature, officials claim, is canned connectivity into heterogeneous data sources, which lets it support right-time reporting and analysis requirements.
